This is Patrick Stump signing autographs and taking pictures with fans…OVER AN HOUR AFTER HE STARTED. He stayed and met EVERY SINGLE FAN that was waiting outside The Fillmore after the show. I told him he was so awesome for doing it, and his response? “It’s because YOU’RE awesome.” He appreciates every supporter of Fall Out Boy so much, he was giving hugs and smiling despite being exhausted from putting on a killer show.
The first time I met him was in 2003, and he was so shy. Sometimes he looked genuinely terrified of the cameras and attention, but he would go out of his way to talk to fans despite all of it. He’s grown in confidence and showmanship, but still remains incredibly humble and so sweet. I don’t care if you’re an FOB fan or not, just please show respect for a band that is about to go on an arena tour that is SELLING OUT, and still shakes the hand of every fan that got them there.
Joe stayed outside for a very long time as well - autographing stuff and talking with people. He answered questions, thanked everyone, and actually apologized to me for not waiting for me to pull out my ticket before he signed someone else’s. It is just amazing how deserving they are of the attention they have gotten and are continuing to receive. They promise to be a band for a very long time, and I wish them all of the luck and success in the world.
